Seed2fire thumbnail
Seed2fire The raw story telling scenarios that paint my world .
Such gratitude for ground work , RDG .
This is not an easy road ,yet it should be the most walked
I love the gospel energy ,blended with South African home grown talent
The sounds of the children ,elders and nature .
Are the key elements for experiencing this human journey
From new born babies first cries
To Zulu mamas singing their hearts out .
I will sing of your love forever
🌱🔥 Favorite track: upon arrival in inhambane [roots house vibe].

about

HOMEopathy is an invitation to create and sing in the moment, and a reflection on what it sounds/feels like to live and create with a musical family that tunes into the joy of the moment. It's also a deconstruction of the genre some call "house music" -- meaning, in these recordings we are truly going back home to lift up the music that's created acoustically without edit, production or any concern for vanity. It's a strong dose of medicine for sure, yet very gentle and therapeutic. Goes down smooth and hopefully with lots of joy and gratitude!

Being the first volume in the Roots House series, HOMEopathy compiles 28 raw-uncut home recordings spanning six years of JKE's musical-nomadic life in South Africa and the USA. Each song highlights a precious moment selected from hundreds of spontaneous musical recordings made on a simple Samsung mobile phone device.

The voices of many souls in the Roots Grown Deep ensemble-family are present in these song-experiences, and many of their homes served as the warm loving environments in which these moments emerged. Thank you dear brothers and sisters Seka Maleka, Naftali Kholofelo Mphago, Phillippa Yaa Devilliers, Dennias Mashegwane, Ntando Majola, Candice Tilly, Stompie Selibe, Nelius Nortje, Tanith Christie & Shane Scott, Caer Harling, Brittany Young, Jeff Woodard, Zozo & Afrika Mgobo, Rozelle Meyer, Chris & Catherina Mocke, Andrew Botelle, Dan Boshoff, Roland Pickl, Rich & Kris Elliott, Dave Stark, Ntuthuko Xulu, Roberto Brazy, Andre Rutishauser, Whitney Freya, and our trusty blue road warrior Lindiwe Queen of Hearts.

All proceeds directly support the production and manufacturing of future albums by JKE & Roots Grown Deep, and the development of the Roots' ensemble's unique 'Seed To Fire' project, a traveling seed and medicine bank and indigenous fire kitchen.

{ HOMEopathy was released in the midst of the period of covid19 global pandemic, during which most human beings and families across the planet were physically confined to their own homes, and faced with the choice: await and adjust to news of transition and paradigm shift, or participate consciously and powerfully in the regeneration of the world. }
